Robert L. Gerth, Chairman and Treasurer
Robert L. Gerth is retired from his profession as a partner with the international accounting and consulting firm of Deloitte. He was a partner in the Seattle office and led its International Group, was office managing partner and Office Chairman. He was a member of the Board and Executive Committee of the Alliance for Education and its former Chairman. He is also supportive of other educational activities for Public Schools and the University of Washington where he was a member of the Regents Audit Advisory Committee. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. He chaired the Strategic Planning Committee of the Center and the Alliance Finance Committee. Bob's focus is helping those in need.
Stewart M. Landefeld, Vice Chairman
Stewart Landefeld is a Partner at Perkins Coie and past Chair of its national Corporate Practice Group. He has counseled businesses and non-profits, and their boards of directors or trustees for over 30 years in the areas of corporate governance, securities compliance, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private equity investments. Among his clients have been businesses and professional sports team. He has served in leadership roles on non-profit boards including the Pike Place Market PDA, The Seattle Foundation, Plymouth Housing Group, the Henry Art Gallery, the Pike Market Senior Center/Downtown Food Bank and the Seattle Art Museum. Stewart is pleased to serve on the Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation, which supports the needs of Western Washington non-profits, with a focus on smaller social service and arts organizations.
Charles W. Viele, Secretary
Charles W. Viele is retired from his banking profession as a trust officer. Having worked in his business for 36 years first with The Bank of California, NA and then Wells Fargo Bank as a trust administrator, business development officer and branch trust manager in Sacramento, Yakima, Spokane and Seattle concluding as Northwest Washington's Regional Fiduciary Vice President. Outside of banking he was a principal in a Lake Union floating home and marina development and yacht dealership. He served in the Army, volunteered with Special Olympics and Ski-for All as an instructor and originated a program for disabled skiing at White Pass. His past board memberships include Yakima Greenway, Community Living, University of Washington and Seattle Estate Planning Boards. He currently is a member of United Way of King County's homeless committee "Out of the Rain". Chuck values his Secretary position with the Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation which focuses its support on the needs of the underprivileged.
Molly B. Stearns, Director
Molly Stearns is Chief Development Officer at Overlake Medical Center, where she leads efforts to raise funds to support Overlake's programs and capital projects. Prior to joining Overlake, she worked for the Seattle Foundation, where she led grantmaking, donor services and communication efforts. She has worked in public and government affairs for Standard Oil Company (Indiana) and as a fundraising consultant for Charles Feldstein and Company. She has more than 40 years of experience in community philanthropy and fundraising. Molly has been adtive in many Seattle area community organizations and currently sits on the boards of the YMCA of Greater Seattle and the Downtown Bellevue Rotary Club. She is pleased to join the Norman Archibald Charitable Foundation Board and values the critical role played by nonprofit organizations in Western Washington.
